About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate couple to join our team as Assistant Lodge Manager and Field Guide at our luxury lodge in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for managing daily lodge operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and leading guided game drives. If you have a passion for wildlife, excellent leadership skills, and a warm personality, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily lodge operations independently
- Conduct twice-daily game drives with guests
- Host and engage guests throughout their stay
- Support guests with photography opportunities and birding interests
- Assist with basic maintenance when required
- Coordinate table settings and dining service with FOH staff
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs
- Manage petty cash, stock control, stock takes, and ordering
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role within a safari lodge
- NightsBridge experience advantageous
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Interest in marketing and social media preferred
- Vibrant, engaging personality
- Ability to motivate staff and maintain high team morale
- Previous experience in a strong 3- or 4-star lodge environment
Qualifications
- FGASA NQF 2 (Field Guide)
- First Aid Level 1
- Valid Driver’s License and PDP DEAT / NDT registered
Salary & Benefits
- Field Guide: R9 500 per month (depending on qualifications – this is for NQF 2 Nature Site Guide)
- Assistant Lodge Manager: R11 000 per month
- Meals on duty access to pantry off duty
- Paid annual leave
- Onsite accommodation provided
