About the Role
Join our respected and well-established lodge group in the heart of Zululand, KwaZuluNatal, as a Lead Trails Guide or Apprentice Trails Guide. We offer an exciting opportunity for passionate guides to develop their skills, build their careers, and contribute to conservation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead trails for guests, ensuring exceptional experiences and professional standards
- Participate in guided game drives, bush walks, and guest hosting activities
- Log hour credits and sign off on Trails Guide hours with mentors
- Engage in ongoing training and development to advance career goals
- Collaborate with senior Trails Guides and dedicated mentors to accelerate growth
Requirements
- Naturally warm, friendly, and guest-focused attitude (non-negotiable)
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- FGASA Level 1 or 2 with Trails Guide qualification OR currently logging Trails hours (VPDA also considered)
- First Aid Level 1
- Valid Drivers License with PDP DEAT / NDT registration
- Knowledge of the Zululand region, local cultures, and attractions (advantageous)
Salary & Benefits
R15 000 – R25 000 per month (based on qualifications & experience)
Accommodation: Single live-in unit with private ensuite + lounge area
No shared accommodation
1 meal per day

The lodge aims to welcome new Trails Guides before month-end; however, they fully respect standard notice periods.
