Job Summary

ABOUT THE ROLE: We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Accountant to join our clients’ team in Paarl . This role is ideal for someone with experience in the construction, warehousing, or technical industries , who is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial functions and supporting the business with accurate reporting and financial insight. RESPONSIBILITIES: Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance. Processing and reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable. Monthly reconciliations of bank, cashbooks, suppliers, and customers. Preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns. Assist with cash flow planning and cost control. Support project costing and job cost tracking (especially for construction or technical jobs). Assist with inventory control and fixed asset management. Monthly management reports and ad hoc financial analysis. Support with payroll processing and reconciliations. Work closely with operational teams to align financials with project outcomes. REQUIREMENTS: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably within a construction, warehouse, manufacturing, or technical business. Completed SAICA articles will be advantageous. Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage Evolution, Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks). Good understanding of cost accounting and job/project costing. Solid knowledge of South African tax and statutory compliance. Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. BONUS POINTS FOR: Experience working with site-based teams or project managers. Understanding of stock systems and inventory processes.
