Purpose:
To perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations for factory machinery, equipment, and buildings,

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements:
1. Qualifications:
-Certified Artisan (Electrician).
– Minimum of 23 years of maintenance experience with medium to heavy industrial
equipment.

2. Skills and Knowledge:
Strong understanding of medium to heavy voltage control systems and switchgear.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in industrial machinery.
Knowledge of safety standards, including SABS 0142 and NOSA regulations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine and preventative electrical maintenance on factory machinery to ensure optimal
performance and minimize downtime.
2. Conduct electrical maintenance and repairs on buildings and facilities, ensuring compliance with
safety and operational standards.
3. Install, test, and commission electrical systems, components, and equipment as required.
4. Inspect, maintain, and repair safety equipment, including emergency stops, overload settings,
and safety cycles for presses.
5. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, avoiding unsafe practices such as circuit bridging for quick
repairs.
6. Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns, providing efficient and effective solutions.
7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and
installations.
8. Assist with additional tasks or duties as required, particularly during staff absences or
emergencies.
9.Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to identify and implement
improvements to electrical systems and processes.
Accountability:
* Ensure all plant, machinery, and equipment are maintained in good working condition to support
uninterrupted operations.
* Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards to maintain a safe working
environment.
Authority Level:
* Act in accordance with SABS 0142 and NOSA Regulations, ensuring all work complies with
relevant safety and quality standards.
