As the Financial Accountant, your duties include the following:
Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and technically compliant
Maintain compliance with group accounting policies, internal controls, and established processes
Prepare month-end reports
Post general journals within required timelines
Manage intercompany invoicing, confirmations, and reconciliations
Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end budget analysis
Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly statutory submissions, including payroll and tax
Build and maintain effective working relationships with the finance teams and other departments
Respond to ad hoc requests from Group and provide support to the Senior Accountant as required

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience as an Accountant in a commercial space
Experience obtained in the retail, FMCG or media space would be highly preferred
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours
Strong knowledge of reporting and taxation

Qualification:
Completed BCom degree in Finance or Accounting
Grade 12 (Matric)

Oversee the monthly payroll cycle to ensure timely and accurate payments
Process supplier invoices and payments efficiently
Record financial transactions by entering relevant account details
Manage and reconcile debtor and creditor ledgers
Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Reconcile general ledger accounts on an ongoing basis

Consolidate monthly financial information across entities within the group
Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard the integrity of financial data
Manage and update the company’s asset register
Respond promptly to financial queries and ad-hoc reporting requests
 
Skills & Experience:
Completed articles +3 years port article experience OR degree and equivalent work experience
Up to date understanding of financial legislation, accounting and audit standards
Up to date knowledge of VAT and tax legislation
Proficiency in XERO accounting
CaseWare knowledge

Qualification:
BCom degree or equivalent
Completed SAICA/SAIPA or CIMA articles highly preferred

Handle South African Reserve Bank applications and exchange control queries
Reconcile foreign creditors and payments
Ensure internal controls and audit readiness
 
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5+ years experience in a financial accounting role with at least 3 years managing statutory, payroll, and financial accounting functions currently
Strong track record with SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, and related returns)
Proven expertise in foreign imports, forex transactions, and exchange control
Skilled in reconciliation, supplier management, and monthly management accounts
Highly proficient in Sage Pastel Partner & Sage VIP Premier — this is non-negotiable
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
Comfortable working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and thriving in a fast-paced environment
 
Qualification:
