Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated External Sales Representative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth by building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers. The role requires a proactive approach to identify sales opportunities, understand customer needs, and deliver tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to achieve sales goals and actively grow the customer base.
- Proactively identify, research, and engage potential customers through cold calling, networking, and market outreach initiatives.
- Conduct regular visits to existing clients to maintain strong relationships and anticipate evolving needs.
- Present and demonstrate the companys products, highlighting key features, benefits, and value propositions.
- Negotiate and close sales deals while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Provide outstanding customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product support.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and on-time deliveries.
- Monitor and analyse industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to inform sales strategies.
- Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, including activity logs, pipeline forecasts, and customer feedback.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as an External Sales Representative or in a similar role, preferably within the jewellery or watchmaking industry.
- Demonstrated success in developing new business and expanding client portfolios.
- Strong understanding of sales principles, cold calling techniques, and negotiation strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
- Strong closing skills with a consultative sales approach.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM software.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel extensively.
- Experience dealing with high-end/VIP customers, managing calls, arranging deliveries, and processing orders.
- Track record of fetching new business and meeting aggressive sales targets.
- Presentable, well-spoken, and professional.
- Minimum 5 years sales experience with the ability to learn 6,500+ product line items (including technical aspects).
- Highly energetic, serious go-getter with excellent organisational skills.
Working hours: Full time permanent position
Area: Cape Town, office based in Woodstock.
