Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the mining sector; expand customer base and maintain existing accounts.
- Serve as technical point of contact for clients; understand their challenges and propose suitable solutions.
- Prepare, submit and follow up on tenders, quotations, and proposals.
- Collaborate with engineering / product teams to ensure feasibility and fit of proposed solutions.
- Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and site visits.
- Oversee implementation / installation / commissioning where necessary; provide technical support onsite.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and budgets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
- Provide aftersales support and customer service to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate CRM records, sales forecasts, and reports.
- Travel regularly to client sites, mines, and between regions as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Mining, or related).
- 3-5+ years’ experience in sales or technical sales in the mining industry.
- Strong technical background; able to read / interpret technical drawings, product specifications, and engineering data.
- Familiarity with mining equipment, processes or specialized products (e.g. mineral processing, conveyors, crushers, pumps, heavy duty electrical or mechanical systems).
- Experience in tendering / bid processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Valid driver’s licence; willingness to travel frequently (provinces / country / region).
- Computer literate: proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM software preferred.
