Gauteng: Project Engineer – Mining Industry posted by Network Contracting

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and execution of mining projects from concept to completion.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support procurement, contractor management, and material tracking for project execution.
• Conduct site inspections, report on progress, and ensure engineering solutions are implemented correctly.
• Assist in project cost tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders, clients, and contractors to ensure alignment on project objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma in Mining, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–5+ years’ experience in project engineering within the mining industry.
• Knowledge of mining processes, plant operations, and site practices.
• Experience with project management tools and software (Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in mining.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
