Midrand: Group Accountant

Our client, who is a dynamic and growing distribution company, is looking for a Group Accountant to join their team in a key role supporting financial operations across the business. As the Group Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting decision-making within the organisation. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting skills and a proactive mindset. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain cash flow and banking processes Perform bank reconciliations and manage fixed asset registers Prepare and support audit packs Compile and maintain the trial balance and balance sheet Ensure accurate submission of VAT and tax returns Produce monthly management reports Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom in Finance Completed articles or CIMA qualification (advantageous) Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) Strong grasp of financial principles and accounting processes Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Experience in logistics or distribution industries is an advantage
