Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparation of Financial Statements (Trusts & Companies)
- Prepare complete financial statements for Trusts (and limited companies)
- Process bank statements using Excel templates
- Process investment cash accounts and compile investment schedules
- Calculate loan interest where applicable
- Reconcile the company’s Management fees
- Review resolutions, agreements, and supporting documentation
- Liaise with Administrators for supporting records and documents
- Populate Trial Balances on Excel and transfer figures into Draftworx
- Check and verify financial statement PDFs before submission for review
2. Reporting and Progress Tracking
- Report on outstanding information required to finalize financial statements
- Update client tickets with progress and query notes
- Generate weekly WIP and pending sign-off/tax return reports
3. Client and Administrator Support
- Resolve financial statement-related queries
- Prepare interest calculations upon request and submit for review before release
- Respond promptly to additional financial information requests
4. Follow-Ups and Deadlines
- Maintain consistent follow-ups on outstanding client information and documentation
- Ensure all deliverables are met within required timelines
5. Timekeeping and Reporting
- Accurately complete and submit weekly timesheets by COB Fridays
6. Tax Return Assistance (Trusts & Companies)
- Prepare and load DRAFT tax returns on MNS (not submit)
- Save DRAFT returns to server for review
- Create new entities on MNS and liaise with MRA for client detail updates
Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant financial qualification (e.g., BCom Accounting, Financial Management, or similar)
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in accounting, with exposure to Trusts preferred
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software such as Draftworx and MNS
- Strong reconciliation, reporting, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
