Job Description
Responsible for managing and developing all credit functions and indirect business activities within the assigned region. The role ensures sound credit evaluation, effective collections management, and proactive risk mitigation to optimise financial performance and support business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits and terms.
- Monitor accounts, manage collections, and resolve overdue payments.
- Identify and mitigate credit risks through regular analysis and monitoring.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams to resolve credit matters.
- Prepare and present credit performance reports and insights to management.
- Ensure compliance with all credit laws, policies, and internal controls.
- Lead and support the credit team to achieve performance targets and maintain service standards.
Requirements:
- Matric and tertiary qualification in Finance or Legal Studies
- Diploma in Credit Management (Levels 1–4) or equivalent finance-related qualification
- 5+ years’ experience in credit control/debtors’ management, preferably in FMCG
- 7+ years’ overall experience in Credit Management with proven team leadership
- Experience in the auto finance industry is advantageous
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables)
- Knowledge of credit scoring models, risk assessment, financial analysis, and collection processes
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
