Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Access / CCTV / IT Support and Technical Services:
- Provide first-line and second-line technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, laptops, printers, and other IT peripherals.   
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to access control systems, including user access management and system functionality.
- Maintain and support the CCTV infrastructure, including camera functionality, recording systems, and user access.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure components.
- Log and track support requests, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with users.
- Document solutions and procedures for common IT issues.
 
- Technical Security Support:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect user information and network infrastructure.
- Assist in the administration of user access controls and permissions.
- Contribute to the implementation of data security policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
 
- SHERQ Adherence:
- Comply with all Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) policies and procedures.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Participate in SHERQ initiatives and training programs.
 
- Work Ethics:
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, including punctuality, responsibility, and commitment.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
 
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- COMPTIA A+ Information Technology certificate
- COMPTIA N+ Information Technology certificate
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certificate
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field (advantageous).
- Minimum of three (3) years of operational network and technical support experience.
- Experience in supporting and maintaining access control systems and CCTV architecture is highly advantageous.
- Formal Training:
- Sound understanding of MCSE Basic Server Module and Basic Active Directory Module concepts.
 
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to differentiate between all colours (essential for cable identification, etc.).
- Ability to work at heights (for installing or maintaining equipment).
- Ability to work in confined spaces and dusty environments (depending on operational requirements).
 
- Policies and Procedures:
- Thorough understanding of IT policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with procurement policies.
 
- Computer Literacy:
- Basic user proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency in applicable discipline-specific software and hardware programs.
- Advanced user knowledge of Windows XP Operating System (and ideally more recent Windows operating systems).
 
- Diagnostic Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
 
- Equipment Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of CCTV and access control equipment installed at the mine.
