They are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to support the Financial Manager and play a key role in driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and compliance across multiple business units.
 
As the Financial Accountant, you will oversee and manage the financial operations of both a restaurant and convenience store division. This is a hands-on position that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to optimizing financial processes and profitability in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Month-End Close: Manage all month-end activities, including reconciliations (sales, stock, creditors, cash, and debtors).
• VAT & Tax Compliance: Ensure proper VAT allocation and adherence to all applicable tax regulations.
• Creditors & Debtors Management: Oversee creditor reconciliations, payments, and queries; manage debtor reconciliations and sales adjustments.
• Cash Flow Oversight: Monitor petty cash, daily cash-ups, and ensure optimal liquidity for operations.
• Profitability Analysis & Cost Control: Evaluate financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve margins, and optimize pricing strategies.
• Inventory & Stock Management: Implement effective stock controls to minimize wastage and manage product expiries.
• Wastage Control: Maintain precise recipe costing and improve inventory systems to reduce financial loss.
• Staff Supervision: Support team development, assist with payroll (in partnership with HR), and ensure labor law compliance.
• Customer Service & Operational Standards: Champion excellence in service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant laws, policies, and internal controls.

Job Experience and Skills Required:
BCom Degree, Diploma, or equivalent financial qualification (preferred)
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in property finance
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with MDA or MRI Property Management Software

As the Accountant, you will manage the financial operations of both the restaurant and convenience store. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting processes, and providing analysis to enhance profitability while maintaining regulatory compliance. You will also assist with administrative tasks within the property division.

This role is based in Pretoria East.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring clarity and precision.
• Month-End Close: Manage month-end processes, including sales, inventory, creditors, and cash entries. Reconcile month-end reports and verify debtors reconciliations.

• Stock & Inventory Management: Regularly assess stock, enforce controls, manage stock expiry and wastage, and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
• Wastage Control: Minimize waste by updating recipe costs and optimizing inventory management.
• Systems Oversight: Ensure operational efficiency within financial systems (MDA, Pilot for the restaurant, and Odyssey for the convenience store) and consistently review reports.
• Staff Management: Lead and nurture a high-performing team, oversee payroll processes in collaboration with HR, ensure legal compliance, and maintain a positive work environment.
• Service Quality: Maintain high service standards to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
• Compliance & Regulations: Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Relevant BCom/Diploma or financial qualification preferred
• 3 years proven experience in retail/hospitality or a restaurant
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Familiarity with MDA/MRI property management software
