Job Description

Location: Stellenbosch Role Overview: The company offers sophisticated escapes and unique guest experiences through an ever-expanding luxury hospitality portfolio, providing dynamic career opportunities for positive, vibrant, and energetic individuals. Position Overview: The Financial Controller is responsible for providing financial control support, including data capturing, processing, cost control, and reconciliations, to the assigned financial accountant and financial manager of the business units. Main Responsibilities: Ensure all invoices have approved orders attached before processing and capturing on Sage Evolution. Perform first-level review of supplier reconciliations for all suppliers reflected on age analysis. Load suppliers as beneficiaries on the Nedbank site. Create payment requisitions and attach invoices, reconciliations, and Evolution supplier ledger to payment batches. Load payments into Nedbank and submit to authorized team members for review and release (weekly and monthly payments). Conduct monthly petty cash counts and reconciliations. Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll information, including tips and commission schedules, to the payroll department monthly. Prepare ad-hoc customer invoices and ensure the monthly billing cycle is accurate and timely. Assist with monthly spot checks on operational asset registers and stock counts. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Apply sound knowledge of VAT processing and implications. Submit monthly customs duty reports Audit, control, and process all supplier invoices according to the financial manual. Prepare full creditors audit files for review by the senior finance team prior to external audits. Support the business with ad-hoc financial requests, providing accurate, high-standard information within required timeframes. Experience and Skills: Minimum 2 years of accounting experience. Hospitality experience advantageous (Protel PMS). Sage Evolution experience advantageous. Intermediate MS Office knowledge. Nedbank experiences advantageous. Inherent Requirements: Matric certificate required. Financial diploma advantageous. Strong attention to detail. Customer service orientation. Planning and organizing skills. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform well under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
