Middelburg: Health and Safety Administrator

Job Summary: We are actively seeking safety-conscious and recently qualified individuals to join our Health and Safety team as Junior Health and Safety Administrators under the YES (Youth Employment Service) initiative. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity for young talents interested in occupational health and safety to gain hands-on experience and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment within the construction machinery industry. Responsibilities: Safety Inspections: Learn and contribute to conducting regular safety inspections of the workplace. Assist in identifying and addressing potential safety hazards. Safety Training Support: Gain exposure to supporting safety training sessions for employees. Assist in organizing training materials and coordinating training logistics. Incident Reporting: Learn to assist in the documentation of safety incidents and near misses. Contribute to the analysis of incidents to identify root causes. Emergency Response Coordination: Assist in coordinating emergency response drills and procedures. Learn to maintain emergency response equipment and supplies. Documentation and Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents. Contribute to the organization of documentation related to health and safety. Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with Health and Safety professionals and different departments to promote safety awareness. Contribute to effective communication within the Health and Safety team. Preferred Skills: A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow. Basic understanding of health and safety principles. Participation in relevant coursework or training programs. Requirements: Recent completion of a high school diploma or equivalent qualification. South African unemployed youth aged between 18 and 34. Must not have taken part in the YES Programme before. Be currently unemployed Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Interest in occupational health and safety. Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.).
