Johannesburg: Plant Project Engineer (FMCG)

PLANT PROJECT ENGINEER Our client is a food packaging manufacturing company based in Boksburg seeking for a dynamic Plant Project Engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following: (amongst other duties) Drive time studies and accurate data collection Drive optimisation of planned changes (Mould changes/colour changes/Weight changes) through accurate data collection and implementation of improvement actions Develop and lead multiple projects in the plant (equipment commissioning, production processes, water & energy savings, plant layout, etc) Identify and recommend improvement areas to improve productivity (Improve machine efficiencies/ Improve cycle times / Reduce cost) Champion energy efficiency for the division – reduction of electricity usage by daily tracking and recommendation of improvement areas Champion all trial run requests in the division and reporting Drive data-based decision making and recommendations MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS BEng or BTech Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering degree 3 – 5 Years engineering experience is required in a food manufacturing environment An ability to communicate at all levels Be familiar with food safety standards An ability to negotiate effectively A strong ability to think logically and rationally Assertive and forthright A strong financial and commercial aptitude
