About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Crop Manager to oversee and manage the best practice for preparing, planting, spraying, and harvesting of crops in our newly cleared areas. The successful candidate will have a strong background in crop farm management, precision farming, and mechanical maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the best practice for preparing, planting, spraying, and harvesting of crops
- Ley cropping is practiced in the newly cleared areas (Sunhemp, Millets, and Oats)
- Procurement of all fertilizers, chemicals, and seed
- Preparation of budgets and accounts as required
Requirements
- Agricultural Diploma or Degree
- Previous crop farm management experience (Maize, soya, sugar beans, and wheat)
- Knowledge of GPS, drone-related mapping, and crop evaluation
- Sound working knowledge of precision farming
- Bush clearing knowledge would be an advantage
- Mechanical and maintenance orientated essential
- Workshop and spares management
- Computer literate
- Good admin and record keeping ability
- Able to motivate and manage a large labor force
Qualifications
- Agricultural Diploma or Degree (if applicable)
- Relevant certifications or training in precision farming (if applicable)
