About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineering and Architecture Lead to join our team in Melrose Arch. As a cloud-first organization, we create scalable, secure platforms that power analytics, AI, and business intelligence across the enterprise. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture and integration strategies, build and manage scalable data pipelines, and ensure data availability and quality to support our analytics, BI, and AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of enterprise data architecture and integration strategies
  • Build and manage scalable, high-performance data pipelines
  • Ensure data availability and quality to support analytics, BI, and AI initiatives
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to translate requirements into solutions
  • Define best practices, enforce standards, and mentor a team of data engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in data engineering or architecture
  • 5+ years Leadership experience
  • 5+ years Architectural experience
  • Proven experience with AWS services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, EMR, Athena)
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, and ETL/ELT development
  • Knowledge of data modelling (Kimball, Data Vault) and data governance

Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Salary & Benefits

Cost to company salary: R1.8m per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
