About the Role

E-Merge, a specialist niche recruitment agency, is seeking an experienced Senior Network Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructure services and applications, ensuring the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure services and applications, including Networking, Security, DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Linux.
  • Ensure network stability and efficiency by working with various protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
  • Apply cybersecurity best practices, including the implementation of firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
  • Analyze network data to identify trends, optimize performance, and support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business objectives and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure software services and applications, including but not limited to Networking, Security, DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Linux.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of protocols and technologies, such as BGP, OSPF, and SDN.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, encryption, and access control.
  • Experience with various IT platforms and a solid grasp of business principles.
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis and making informed decisions based on industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Salary & Benefits

A cost-to-company salary negotiable between R1.2mil to R1.6mil per annum, depending on experience and ability. A hybrid work model offering flexibility with 5 days required in the office per month is also provided.
