About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Service Supervisor / Wine Steward to join a dynamic lodge team at HotelJobs in Thabazimbi, Limpopo. The successful candidate will oversee beverage and service operations, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and provide expert wine knowledge and recommendations in line with the lodges high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and monitor the service team to ensure consistent high-quality service and adherence to liquor regulations
- Prepare, present, and serve beverages, including developing specialty drinks and training staff
- Promote effective communication between the kitchen and service teams, including daily briefings and pass management
- Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure a positive dining experience
- Manage beverage and service stock, maintain par levels, and coordinate ordering and deliveries
- Review beverage menus, analyze recipes, and ensure profitable pricing and cost control
- Maintain beverage and service equipment, arrange for maintenance and repairs as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 2-year Cape Wine Academy diploma
- Grade 12
- Travel and Tourism qualification an advantage
- At least 1 year experience in a similar position
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Sound knowledge of TallOrder (advantage)
- Strong understanding of luxury F&B service standards
- Knowledge of local, regional, and international wines and other beverages
- Knowledge of food and cooking methods, products, and supply
Qualifications
