About the Role
Join a fast-growing international accounting firm supporting UK clients in Cape Town City Centre. This remote opportunity allows you to work directly with the UK office while developing your career in a professional and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise directly with a portfolio of clients
- Process cashbook entries and perform bank reconciliations
- Manage creditor processing and reconciliations
- Post month-end journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Maintain and manage fixed asset registers including depreciation and disposals
- Handle intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Administer UK payroll and submit returns using Simple Pay or similar
- Reconcile VAT and file returns with HMRC
- Electronically file annual accounts and confirmation statements with HMRC
- Keep internal workflow systems updated
- Assist with other ad hoc finance-related tasks
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience
- Diploma or degree in accounting
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Experienced in Xero and Sage Business Online
- Skilled in payroll software, ideally Simple Pay
- Familiar with UK accounting regulations and HMRC filing
- Background in an accounting firm, ideally with UK client experience
- Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail
- Organised, deadline-driven, and able to work under pressure
- Proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in accounting (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
R22 000 to R25 000 per month
