Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Saw Operator to join our team in the timber industry. The Saw Operator will be responsible for cutting and shaping timber using various saws, ensuring precision and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain saws (including band saws, circular saws, and table saws) to cut timber to specified sizes and shapes.
- Measure and mark timber for cutting according to work orders.
- Ensure cuts are precise and meet quality standards.
- Adjust saw settings for different types of wood and cutting requirements.
- Inspect timber for defects and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety guidelines.
- Perform routine maintenance on saws and report any malfunctions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role in the timber industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.
Preferred:
- Experience with different types of saws and cutting techniques.
- Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting and maintenance.
