Job Description

Key aspects of the role involve: Focusing on the M1 and M2 periods, ensuring crude selection and refinery throughput meet demand and operational limits. Using refinery LP models to evaluate future supply scenarios, processing strategies, and major operational events like turnarounds. Collaborating closely with Supply and Demand Planners to embed refinery plans into enterprise-wide supply and demand strategies. Conducting scenario analyses to understand the impact of different crude slates, market prices, and operational constraints on refinery profitability. Analyzing weekly price forecasts to assess their influence on refinery margins and communicating insights to stakeholders. Supporting performance analysis by identifying deviations from plans and refining LP assumptions. Working with the Short-Term LP Planner to evaluate how campaign plans influence long-term performance. Contributing to the Enterprise Business Management process to ensure strategic alignment. Maintaining and updating LP model inputs, including constraints, crude properties, and unit capabilities. Engaging with various teams across supply, trading, operations, and commercial functions to ensure plans support broader business goals. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, operations research, or related fields, with advanced training in refinery optimization or LP modeling being advantageous. At least 2 years of experience in refinery planning, LP modeling, or process optimization, with familiarity with tools like Aspen PIMS, Spiral LP, or GRTMPS. Overall, the Mid-Term LP Planner ensures that refinery strategies are optimized and aligned with enterprise objectives, supporting sustainable profitability and operational excellence.
