Job Description

Spa at a Wine Estate in the Stellenbosch / Brackenfell area is looking for a Spa & Wellness Manager. The Spa & Wellness Manager will lead the luxury spa and wellness operations at the Estate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in holistic wellbeing ; combining expertise in spa therapies with a deep understanding of movement practices such as yoga; Pilates and functional fitness . This leadership role requires a balance of operational excellence ; creative wellness programming and an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences in line with luxury hospitality standards . Duties: Leadership & Operations: Oversee daily operations of the spa and fitness centre, ensuring exceptional service and seamless coordination across all touchpoints. Lead; train, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of therapists, instructors, and wellness professionals. Uphold and enforce brand standards, operating procedures, and hygiene protocols to ensure a consistently elevated guest experience. Holistic Wellness & Movement Programming: Develop and curate a comprehensive wellness offering that integrates spa treatments with movement practices like yoga, Pilates, and guided fitness sessions. Collaborate with instructors to deliver thoughtfully designed group classes, private sessions, and seasonal wellness programs. Stay current with global wellness trends to continuously evolve the wellness journey offered to guests. Guest Experience: Provide personalized wellness consultations and guide guests through bespoke wellness journeys. Foster a serene, welcoming environment where guests feel cared for, supported, and inspired to enhance their well-being. Actively engage with guests to gather feedback and ensure high satisfaction and repeat visitation. Financial Management: Drive revenue across all spa and wellness offerings, including treatments, retail, and movement-based programs. Manage department budgets, forecasts, and cost controls while ensuring profitability and operational efficiency. Monitor KPIs and implement strategies to optimize performance and guest engagement. Marketing & Brand Alignment: Collaborate with hotel marketing and PR teams to promote wellness programs, special events, and brand partnerships. Organize and host wellness events, retreats, and workshops that reflect the hotels luxury positioning and wellness philosophy. Maintain strong visual presentation, tone of voice, and service consistency aligned with brand identity. Requirements: Degree or diploma in Spa Management, Wellness, Hospitality, or a related field preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience in spa and wellness operations, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort environment. Strong understanding of spa therapies and wellness services, with specific knowledge of movement practices and functional training. Proven leadership and team development skills. Excellent guest service orientation and ability to create memorable, personalized wellness experiences. Financial acumen in budgeting, reporting, and driving revenue. CPR and First Aid certification is an advantage. Passionate about wellness and mindful living. Innovative; trend-aware, and committed to continuous improvement. Naturally empathetic with a warm, guest-focused mindset. Organized; proactive, and able to multitask in a fast-paced luxury environment. A strong ambassador for the hotel’s wellness brand and culture.
