Our client, a leader in the steel fabrication industry is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Technician to join their team based in Cato Ridge.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide technical support to plant production and maintenance operations. Assist with training and high level fault finding. Perform plant development projects. Drive safety initiatives allocated too.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric
- N6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Higher National Diploma in electrical engineering from University of technology
- Pr.Tech (added advantage)
- ECSA approved candidate technician program + 3 years, or N6 + 8 years
- 10 years working experience
- Heavy Industry, Automation and instrumentation
MINIMUM JOB FUNCTIONS
- Compliance of health, safety, environmental and housekeeping
- Project and contractor Management
- Safety and Task auditing
- Assist with legal compliance
- Ensuring plant stability
- Plant development and continuous improvement
- Shutdown and maintenance planning
- Compliance of health, safety, environmental rules and regulations
- Conduct standby and shift duties as and when required
Budgetary responsibility
- Assist the company in achieving its budgetary requirements through the selection of the best value for money solution for the organisation and minimising the wastage of resources
Procurement responsibility
- Follow company Stores and Procurement procedures and ensure that all requirements are accurately specified to ensure the efficient procurement.
- Manage spares stock to ensure minimum risk to the organisation whilst optimising stock levels. Investigating all possible sources of supply to ensure that the most favourable option is chosen and that those procurements adhere to relevant codes and standards.
