Job Description
Well established company based in Gqeberha are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join the automotive manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining and repairing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to ensure optimal production performance. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high-quality standards and supporting production efficiency
Requirements:

Trade Tested Toolmaker (Red Seal certification preferred)
-
Minimum 35 years of experience as a Toolmaker in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of machining, tooling and CNC programming
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD designs
-
Excellent attention to detail and precision
-
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
-
Experience with injection moulding or press tools (advantageous)
-
Familiarity with ISO/TS 16949 quality systems (advantageous)

CAD/CAM software proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam) (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture, assemble, and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to precise specifications

Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to produce components
-
Operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other precision equipment
-
Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of tools

Ensure tools meet required tolerances and quality standards
-
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise tool design and functionality

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety standards

Record maintenance and repair activities accurately
