About the Role
Network Finance is seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg North. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and consolidating group financial reports, leading group consolidations, and providing technical leadership on IFRS standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual group financial reports in line with IFRS
- Lead group consolidations, intercompany reconciliations, and elimination entries
- Deliver management accounts, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial insights
- Prepare annual financial statements, board packs, and audit schedules
- Act as key liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements
- Provide technical leadership on IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 9, business combinations, impairments, and revenue recognition
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, modelling, and strategic initiatives
- Support M&A, restructuring, and investment activities including due diligence
- Lead, mentor, and review work of junior and group finance team members
- Drive process improvement, automation, and reporting standardisation across the group
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CA(SA) preferred or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA)
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a group finance or consolidated reporting environment
- Proven experience with statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance
- Experience leading or mentoring finance team members
Skills:
- Strong IFRS technical expertise
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- ERP system experience (SAP, EMC or similar)
