About the Role
Our client, a national distributor of flowers with their head office based in Joostenbergvlakte, Durbanville, is seeking a hands-on and dynamic Bookkeeper to join their team. The company has grown to become the largest rose supplier in South Africa since its establishment in 1996 and aims to ensure continuity and diversity of quality roses to the satisfaction of their business partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconciliations:
- Debtors, creditors, bank, and intercompany recons
- Balance sheet recons
- VAT returns
- Payroll using Simplepay (100 staff monthly, weekly, seasonal, and shift workers)
- EMP201 & EMP501
- Stock control: Oversee the stock control function
- Debtors:
- Do daily invoicing, weekly, and monthly recons
Requirements
- Accounting qualification
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience
- Able to work on-site Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 16:30
- Own transport essential
- Willing to work 1 Saturday a month for approximately 4 hours
- Advanced Excel user
- Experience working on SAGE
- Must have done payroll before
- Afrikaans speaking
- Think on their feet
- Problem solver
- Show initiative
- Learns and adapts quickly in open-plan office environment
