About the Role
Hires Resolve has partnered with a small mining company to find a Finance Manager to join their Finance department at their offices in Sandton. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing accounting systems and processes, preparing monthly financial reports, and controlling the master data of the general ledger of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the duties of the Finance/Accounting team
- Implementing accounting systems and processes for the organization
- Reviewing the company’s systems and analyzing risk
- Undertaking financial audits to determine the organization’s financial position
- Preparing the company’s monthly financial reports
- Preparing financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts
- Controlling the master data of the general ledger
- Reconciling income statements
- Detecting and preventing financial fraud that may arise
- Reviewing and releasing online banking payments
- Liaising with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and dealing with any financial irregularities as they arise
- Arranging financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting
- Ensuring compliance with the South African Revenue Service
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Honors degree preferred
- Completion of Articles
- 5 years proven experience post articles
- Registered with The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
- Experience with filing of corporate tax returns
