About the Role
Our client, based in Bloemfontein, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Office Administrator to join their team on a 3-month contract. The ideal candidate will thrive in a structured yet dynamic environment, supporting day-to-day office operations with strong administrative and basic accounting skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage debtors accounts, including issuing invoices, allocating payments, following up on outstanding balances, and maintaining accurate debtor records
- Manage creditors accounts by processing supplier invoices, preparing payment schedules, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely payments
- Perform monthly reconciliations, including debtors, creditors, and general ledger reconciliations
- Capture and process financial transactions accurately on Pastel accounting system
- Prepare, process, and reconcile bank statements, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and discrepancies are resolved timeously
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting by providing accurate financial information to management
- Maintain proper filing systems for financial and administrative documents, both electronic and manual
- Manage general office administration duties, including correspondence, data capturing, document preparation, and record keeping
- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to emails, and attend to internal and external queries professionally
- Support management and other departments with administrative and financial tasks as required
Requirements
- Relevant certificate or diploma in Office Administration, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field (advantageous)
- Proven experience (4-5 years’) in an office administration role with hands-on exposure to debtors and creditors management
- Experience or knowledge in farming and irrigation will be advantageous
