About the Role
GC Solar, a dynamic and growing player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled and certified professional to lead our new Support and Repair Division. This key leadership role requires an individual with deep technical expertise in photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage (BESS), and broader electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Head up the Support and Repair Division
- Diagnose faults
- Perform repairs
- Ensure optimal performance of installed solar and storage systems
Requirements
- A valid PV Green Card is non-negotiable.
- A valid Wiremans License (3-Phase) and a completed Electrical Trade Test.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of:
- Grid-tied and hybrid PV systems (1-phase and 3-phase).
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Associated components (inverters, charge controllers, monitoring systems).
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to head up a division, manage workflows, and mentor junior technicians.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with a methodical approach to repair and maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of the SANS 10142-1 wiring code and all relevant regulations for grid-connected PV systems.
- A valid drivers licence, own reliable vehicle, and a clear criminal record.
