Potchefstroom: Junior Micro Biologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Microbiologist to join their laboratory team in Potchefstroom, as part of their continued growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological testing and laboratory analyses
• Prepare, label, and process samples, media, cultures, and reagents
• Conduct microbial identification and enumeration procedures
• Record, analyse, and interpret laboratory results accurately
• Maintain detailed laboratory documentation and reports
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, hygiene, and biosafety standards
• Assist with quality control processes and internal audits
• Maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Support senior microbiologists with research and special projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, or related field (essential)
• 02 years laboratory experience (internship or practical training advantageous)
• Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Computer literate (MS Office; laboratory information systems advantageous)
