About the Role
Our client, Tailormade Solution, is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accounting Clerk to join their team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the finance department and assisting with various accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Capturing of cash books and processing accounting records up to Trial Balance
- Drafting Financial Statements / management accounts
- VAT processing and return submissions
- VAT reconciliation between VAT 201s and accounting records
- Fixed asset register maintenance
- Financial forecasting
- Initiating purchases for all requirements internally
- Capturing Cashbook transactions
- Updating VAT recons and schedules
- Reviewing training costs
- Raising PO for creditors payments
- Maintaining supplier Masterfile on Sage Pastel
- Performing general office administrative duties
- Providing finance with reports and analysis from reviews
- Raising Customer quotes on Pastel
- Raising invoices for customers on Pastel
- Preparing forecast for new projects
Requirements
- Matric
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting
- 2+ years of experience in a finance department
- Good numerical ability/grasp of numbers
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
