About the Role

Telebest is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect: IoT Pre-sales to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our sales and pre-sales team, you will be responsible for translating customer requirements into working solutions, providing input into business cases, and delivering on customer Proof of Concepts (POCs). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, deliver, and support the design and development of technology solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into working solutions.
• Provide input into business cases to understand cost, risk, and benefits of solutions.
• Deliver on customer POCs and ensure testing criteria is clear and agreed upon.
• Use commercial acumen to deliver solutions that fit within the customer’s budget.
• Provide input into the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in enterprise development and maximize return on investment.
• Work in cross-functional teams to define, deliver, and support design and development of technology solutions.
• Participate in supplier selection process.
• Renew new and existing solutions design projects and procurements plans for compliance with architecture plans.
• Maintain current OEM certifications and obtain new certifications where required.
• Collaborate with global teams to create and execute research into the feasibility of customer-specific solutions.
• Contribute to development, review, and analysis of IoT Products and Services roadmaps to ensure alignment with client requirements.
• Own technical relationships with customers.
• Design IoT product-specific pre-sales architecture within approved operational limits.
• Lead technical design and build of customer elements of solution.
• Provide input into account management plans and go-to-market plays.
• Collaborate with sales specialists and account managers to deep-dive into customers’ business challenges.
• Develop and design high-quality technical responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs that meet customer requirements.
• Provide technical input on pricing for tenders and proposals.
• Maintain alignment to Group sales and pre-sales architect processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or another related field.
• Relevant IoT OEM certification.
• Business and commercial acumen.
• Fluency in English; French is advantageous.
• 15+ years of experience in Information Technology and Presales.
• Understanding of Telemetry, Internet of Things, or Industrial Internet of Things.
• Prior professional services or consulting background.
• Previous work experience across diverse cultures and geographies is advantageous.
• Experience working in a large organization.
• Experience in global or multinational enterprises coupled with emerging markets.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
