About the Role
Our client, a boutique investment manager based in Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Investment Distribution Specialist to drive the growth of their assets under management within the retail and Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) channels. With a strong focus on delivering superior returns through rigorous bottom-up valuation methodology, our client currently manages R40bn of predominantly institutional client money.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a distribution strategy to grow assets under management (AUM) within the retail and IFA channels
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with IFAs, wealth managers, and retail investors
- Present our clients’ investment philosophy, process, and product range to prospective and existing clients
- Conduct regular client meetings, roadshows, and training sessions for IFAs
- Collaborate with the investment team to ensure accurate and timely product information is communicated to clients
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify new business opportunities
- Maintain accurate CRM records and prepare regular sales and pipeline reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (CFA or CFP designation advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years experience in investment distribution, preferably within asset management
- Proven track record of building and managing relationships with IFAs and retail clients
- Strong knowledge of investment products, markets, and regulatory requirements
