About the Role

The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining health and safety standards on construction sites in Cape Town. The successful candidate must ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce health and safety policies on site
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits
  • Ensure compliance with OHS Act and Construction Regulations
  • Maintain safety files and documentation
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety training
  • Investigate incidents and compile reports
  • Liaise with site management, contractors, and inspectors
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work procedures

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • National Diploma or relevant qualification in Health & Safety
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • SAMTRAC / NEBOSH (advantageous)
