About the Role

African Echoes Recruitment is seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep, repair, and overall functionality of all lodge facilities at our luxury game lodge in Waterberg, Limpopo. The successful candidate will lead the maintenance team, manage contractors, implement preventative maintenance programmes, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards while supporting overall lodge operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of lodge facilities and grounds
• Oversee maintenance in rooms, public areas, kitchens, and staff areas
• Plan and manage repairs, renovations, and projects
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules
• Respond to breakdowns and emergencies efficiently
• Control maintenance budgets, expenses, and reporting
• Ensure proper use and upkeep of tools and equipment
• Manage contractors and supplier relationships
• Drive cost-saving and energy-efficient initiatives

Requirements

* Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within hospitality or lodge environments

* Strong technical knowledge (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, carpentry)

* Ability to manage maintenance projects and contractors

* Strong leadership and team management skills

* Good communication and problem-solving ability

* Computer literacy (MS Office essential, Opera advantageous)

* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations

* Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Salary & Benefits

R23 000 per month (negotiable – DOE), live-in position (if applicable), meals on duty, pension/provident fund contribution (after probation).
