Job Description

Qualifications: Matric qualification Diploma or Degree in Information Technology HCIP Datacom Certification 35 years experience in enterprise networking environments Experience with routing, switching, firewall and wireless technologies. Exposure to cloud networking and hybrid environments. Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies. Responsibilities: Maintain agreed network uptime and availability targets Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls and wireless infrastructure. Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, and cloud. Manage security solutions, including firewall and intrusion detection systems. Perform network system backups and recovery. Resolve incidents within SLA timeframes Optimise latency, bandwidth utilisation and throughput Perform network design and capacity planning. Ensure compliance with security standards and remediation timelines Successful implementation of network projects within scope and timelines Participate in infrastructure and digital transformation projects. Implement network solutions according to business and technical requirements. Assist with migrations, upgrades and deployments. Produce implementation and rollback plans. Maintain updated and accurate technical documentation Successful execution of approved changes with minimal business disruption Finish projects and SLAs in allocated time, Standard and Quality. Attend to issues, incidents and requests for assistance timeously. Positive feedback from internal users and stakeholders Completion of scheduled maintenance and proactive monitoring Identification and implementation of infrastructure improvements Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery. Diagnose and resolve network-related incidents and outages. Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support. Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues. Ensure minimal downtime through proactive support and monitoring. Escalate critical issues where necessary.
