About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Accountant to take ownership of our financial reporting function, ensuring compliance across the business and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the monthly and annual financial reporting process
- Process supplier and customer invoices
- Review reconciliations from the general ledger to balance sheet, monthly
- Ensure audit readiness and maintain a clean, efficient audit file, annually
- Prepare and review monthly creditors reconciliations
- Prepare and review bank and petty cash reconciliations
- Review all payments before approval and ensure timeous payments
- Manage all tax submissions and payments, ensuring ongoing compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures across the business
- Document, improve, and streamline financial processes
Requirements
- BCom Accounting degree from a recognised institution
- SAIPA or CIBA accreditation
- Minimum 4 years relevant accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities
- Valid drivers license and own reliable vehicle
Qualifications
- Formal education in Accounting (BCom) from a recognised institution is required.
