About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be a tax professional with a strong track record of managing complex local and international tax matters across diverse client portfolios. Key Responsibilities
- Management and review of corporate, trust, and individual income tax returns
- Preparation and review of provisional tax calculations and tax reconciliations
- Advising clients on restructures, rollover relief provisions, and tax-efficient structuring
- Assisting clients with cessation of South African tax residency and cross-border tax implications
- Drafting technical tax opinions, memoranda, objections, and appeals
- Advising on withholding taxes, double tax agreements, and international tax matters
- Managing VAT compliance reviews and voluntary disclosure applications
- Liaising directly with SARS regarding submissions, disputes, and correspondence
- Maintaining compliance deadlines and mentoring junior tax professionals
Requirements
- BCom Accounting or BCom Taxation essential
- HDip Tax or Postgraduate Tax qualification advantageous
- SAIT membership and TP(SA) designation preferred
- 35 years post-articles experience within a tax compliance and advisory environment
- Strong working knowledge of the Income Tax Act, VAT Act, and Tax Administration Act
- Experience with SARS eFiling, objections, appeals, and SARS correspondence
