About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be a tax professional with a strong track record of managing complex local and international tax matters across diverse client portfolios. Key Responsibilities

  • Management and review of corporate, trust, and individual income tax returns
  • Preparation and review of provisional tax calculations and tax reconciliations
  • Advising clients on restructures, rollover relief provisions, and tax-efficient structuring
  • Assisting clients with cessation of South African tax residency and cross-border tax implications
  • Drafting technical tax opinions, memoranda, objections, and appeals
  • Advising on withholding taxes, double tax agreements, and international tax matters
  • Managing VAT compliance reviews and voluntary disclosure applications
  • Liaising directly with SARS regarding submissions, disputes, and correspondence
  • Maintaining compliance deadlines and mentoring junior tax professionals

Requirements

  • BCom Accounting or BCom Taxation essential
  • HDip Tax or Postgraduate Tax qualification advantageous
  • SAIT membership and TP(SA) designation preferred
  • 35 years post-articles experience within a tax compliance and advisory environment
  • Strong working knowledge of the Income Tax Act, VAT Act, and Tax Administration Act
  • Experience with SARS eFiling, objections, appeals, and SARS correspondence
