About the Role
A growing organisation within the renewable energy and construction sector is seeking a commercially minded finance professional to join its executive team as a Senior Financial Manager, stepping into a CFO-level position. Executive leadership will provide strategic guidance and mentorship, supporting the successful candidate in driving financial growth, project profitability, and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial input to support business growth and expansion
- Oversee the full finance function, including reporting, controls, and compliance
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements
- Implement and maintain financial governance and internal control frameworks
- Oversee financial performance of construction and project-based environments
- Drive cost control and profitability across projects
- Support commercial decision-making with financial analysis
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders
- Contribute to risk management and financial strategy
- Lead and mentor the finance team
Requirements
Chartered Accountant CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification (essential)
10–15 years of progressive finance experience
Proven track record in a senior finance leadership role (CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent)
Significant experience within construction, EPC, infrastructure, renewable energy, or similar project-driven sectors
Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects valued between R50 million and R1 billion
