About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to lead our water sector projects, drive business growth, and provide specialist technical advisory services to clients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary bids, project delivery, and commercial execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strategic client relationships
- Support business growth by marketing water engineering capabilities
- Provide specialist technical advisory services to clients
- Contribute to tender preparation and multidisciplinary bids
- Project Delivery: Lead and manage water sector projects from concept to completion
- Provide specialist technical direction and quality control
- Prepare and review designs, reports, specifications, and cost estimates
- Oversee procurement, contractor appointment, and site handover
- Manage commercial and technical execution of projects
- Implement cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives
- Conduct technical design reviews
Requirements
- Specialist knowledge of water and sanitation engineering principles
- Strong understanding of applicable local and international standards
- Experience in both technical leadership and commercial project management
- Proven experience on large-scale and/or multidisciplinary projects
- Minimum 12 years of engineering experience
- At least 5 years post-professional registration experience
- Professional Registration (e.g., Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng or equivalent)
- Ongoing commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Qualifications
- B.Eng, B.Tech, National Diploma, or National Higher Diploma in Engineering
