About the Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing robust, technically sound, and market-competitive pricing frameworks, while supporting the design, review, and optimisation of new and existing insurance products. The environment is highly analytical and collaborative, providing exposure to complex pricing structures and bespoke insurance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of pricing methodologies and product development frameworks
- Lead pricing and re-pricing initiatives to ensure both technical integrity and market competitiveness
- Work closely with underwriting, claims, IT, and product teams to build a comprehensive understanding of products and operational processes
- Review and approve new product proposals, ensuring commercial viability and regulatory compliance
- Validate and review actuarial outputs produced by team members to maintain quality and accuracy
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior actuarial analysts
- Enhance tools and monitoring processes to ensure ongoing pricing and policy value accuracy
- Investigate pricing variances, quantify financial impact, and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure adherence to audit standards, governance frameworks, and risk management requirements
- Collaborate with external partners on pricing models and optimisation initiatives
- Support the design and delivery of bespoke insurance solutions tailored to client needs
- Monitor and report on product performance and profitability in line with actuarial best practice
- Act as a senior actuarial advisor to management and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Education: Actuarial Degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics or Statistics as majors
- Nearly or newly qualified Actuary (AMASSA)
- Minimum of 5 years relevant actuarial experience within insurance or financial services
- Associate Actuary status or strong progress toward Associate-level examinations
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: Actuarial Degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics or Statistics as majors.
