About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Manager to join their team in the Eastern Cape region. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional leadership skills, outstanding organizational abilities, and extensive knowledge of construction management principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and manage all on-site activities, including site inspections, contractor meetings, and project progress reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including detailed scopes of work, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and track project expenses, material deliveries, and resource utilization, making necessary adjustments to achieve project deliverables and budget targets.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution and effective problem-solving.
  • Conduct regular site meetings to communicate project updates, resolve issues, and address any concerns raised by stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to management, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and potential risks to project completion.
  • Foster a positive working environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and high-quality workmanship among site personnel.
  • Keep abreast of industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies in construction management, applying relevant knowledge to enhance project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a National Diploma in electrical or mechatronic engineering; BTech preferred (or NQF equivalent)
  • Proven knowledge of renewable plant management (or similar industrial plant) is required, including:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of wind farm systems and operations
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Exposure to/knowledge of SCADA Systems, HV and MV power systems, transformers, solar PV system (inverters and PV panels)
  • Experience in switching LV and MV systems
  • Working knowledge of power system protection
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of LV and 33 kV cable systems including fault location and diagnostics
  • Ideally, two years supervisory experience
  • Proven excellent safety record OHS Act knowledge – Health and Safety
  • General ERP/CMMS experience is an advantage
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word and Excel is required. Competence in PowerPoint is an advantage
