Job Description
Financial & Consumable Control
- Ensure accurate allocation of costs to correct cost codes and cost centres
- Monitor estimated vs actual costs and investigate variances
- Manage consumable stock control processes to minimise waste and financial loss
- Review and process creditor invoices with detailed line-item accountability
- Conduct year-end reconciliations and identify unrecovered costs
- Facilitate credit applications and corrective financial actions
Creditors Management
- Manage the full creditors function across a high-volume and complex supplier base
- Validate supplier rates against service level agreements
- Capture invoices accurately, including correct VAT treatment
- Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs (monthly by the 25th)
- Perform detailed month-end reconciliations prior to payment release
- Resolve supplier queries and disputes professionally and timeously
Systems & Process Optimisation
- Identify automation opportunities within the creditors function
- Improve efficiencies through EDI integrations and system mappings
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel reporting tools (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables)
- Enhance workflows to improve turnaround times and reduce errors
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a team of creditors accountants
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOPs, and deadlines
- Conduct performance check-ins and foster accountability and continuous improvement
Requirements
Education
- Diploma in Management Accounting or equivalent
- Advanced Excel proficiency (essential)
- Supply chain and cost structure knowledge advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the export industry or a high-volume creditors environment
- Strong financial acumen with reconciliation and variance analysis experience
- Previous QX system experience advantageous
