About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Bookkeeper to join our team in Johannesburg, Sunninghill. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial record-keeping, as well as assisting with various accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Processing: Recording financial entries, sales, and purchase invoices.
- Bank & Account Reconciliation: Matching bank statements to internal records and reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Payroll: Processing salaries and wages.
- Taxation: Assisting with VAT reconciliations and returns.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining organized financial documents and updating ledgers.
- Software Use: Utilizing accounting software (Pastel, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent).
- Experience: Previous bookkeeping experience in an accounting firm (multiple sets of books) (2 years preferred).
