About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Field Guide & Duty Manager Couple to join our luxury 5* Lodge in the Addo National Park. As a Senior Field Guide, you will be responsible for conducting game drives and walks, ensuring top-standard guiding experience, and assisting with lodge operations. As a Duty Manager, you will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and maintain high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting game drives and walks to ensure top-standard guiding experience
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and functional
- Assisting with lodge operations
- Bush clearing and road works during down season
- Supervising; training, and motivating employees
- Managing staff schedules and monitoring performance to ensure productivity
- Overseeing daily operations from front-of-house to events and facilities
- Addressing guest complaints, resolving issues, and maintaining high standards of customer service
- Ensuring all staff and customers adhere to health, safety, and legal requirements and emergency procedures
- Act as a liaison between different departments and management, maintaining clear communication and coordinating tasks
- Handling unexpected issues and incidents promptly and effectively
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience operating in Big 5 / 5* environment
- Passion for Conservation & Ecology
- Back Up or Lead Trails Guide qualification
- FGASA level 2 (Level 1 will be considered, depending on experience)
- ARH qualification
- Firearm proficiencies & SAPS firearm clearance certificate
- NDT registered
- Valid First Aid
- Valid PrDP
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent in Tourism or Hospitality Management
