About the Role
Mecad Systems is seeking a Junior Sales Estimator to join our team in Durban, South Africa. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing quotations and cost estimates, liaising with various stakeholders, and supporting senior estimators with tenders and follow-ups.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing quotations and cost estimates from customer enquiries and drawings
- Calculate material, labour, and production costs
- Liaise with sales, production, and suppliers to confirm pricing and lead times
- Maintain and update pricing schedules and costing data
- Support senior estimators with tenders and follow-ups
Requirements
- Matric (technical qualification or diploma advantageous)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Basic technical understanding; CAD exposure beneficial
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- High attention to detail and good communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within an estimating or sales environment
- Basic CAD drawing ability, steel fabrication experience or knowledge, and exposure to CNC machinery will be advantageous
