About the Role
Our client is a dominant force in the South African transport cooling and mobile refrigeration sector. They are dedicated to providing high-performance temperature control solutions for commercial fleets across Gauteng. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical maintenance and repair of diesel engines powering sophisticated mobile refrigeration units.
- Perform full engine overhauls, cooling system diagnostics, and routine servicing to ensure maximum fleet uptime.
- Maintain the mechanical integrity of high-value transport assets while adhering to strict safety and quality standards in a demanding workshop and field environment.
Requirements
- Trade Qualification: Must be a Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a recognized Trade Test (Section 13 or 26D).
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of post-trade experience specifically within transport refrigeration or heavy vehicle maintenance.
- Engine Mastery: Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing small to medium diesel engines (e.g., Kubota, Yanmar, or similar refrigeration power units).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of cooling systems, fuel injection systems, and mechanical drive components.
- Local Proximity: Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be currently based in the Midrand area.
