About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Chef to lead our brigade of 45 staff members in a modern, well-established four-star hotel located in the Cape Town Waterfront. As the culinary leader, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and delivering exceptional cuisine to our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menus for à la carte, conference, banqueting, room service, and seasonal/promotional offerings
- Manage stock control to ensure optimal efficiency and cost control
- Maintain thorough knowledge and implementation of hygiene and food safety standards
- Lead staff training, coaching, and performance management
- Implement effective promotional strategy and innovation in menu planning and costing
- Present with charm, confidence, and sophistication in a guest-focused environment
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a four- or five-star hotel environment as Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef
- Matric certificate and Culinary Diploma from a reputable chef school
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
